Paralympic Medalists Huking and Armbruster Join USABA Staff

Two-time Paralympic medalist Marybai Huking and four-time Paralympic medalist Jennifer Armbruster have both joined the USABA staff. Huking was named USABA's sport program coordinator in May and Armbruster was recently appointed as blind soccer coordinator. Huking and Armbruster were Paralympic goalball teammates at the Rio 2016 Games when they teamed up to win the bronze medal...the first of two Paralympic medals for Huking and the last of four medals for Armbruster. Eleven Tokyo 2020 Paralympians Among 16 Goalball Sport Ambassadors Named by USABA

Colorado Springs, Colo. (May 19, 2022) – The U.S. Association of Blind Athletes (USABA), recently certified as the National Governing Body for the Paralympic sport of goalball, is pleased to announce 16 individuals who will serve as goalball sport ambassadors. Throughout the year, the ambassadors will assist USABA in spreading awareness around goalball programming and other initiatives via digital content and in-person appearances. Two Additional Goalball Paralympians Elected to USABA Board

(COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.) – As the newly-certified national governing body for the Paralympic team sports of goalball and blind soccer, the United States Association of Blind Athletes (USABA) has announced the election of two additional athlete representatives to its Board of Directors. Tom Parrigin, USABA Hall of Fame Member, Passes Away

Thomas “Tom” Parrigin, Jr., a member of the USABA Hall of Fame Class of 2013 and retired USA Goalball Men’s National Team coach, passed away on January 12 at the age of 83. His tenure as a USA coach spanned five Paralympics from 1992 to 2008. Coach Parrigin taught at the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind (FSDB) from 1968 to 2001 and introduced the sport of goalball to the school in the 1980s. USABA Announces 2020 Hall of Fame Class


The United States Association of Blind Athletes is pleased to announce the members of the Class of 2020 who will be inducted into the USABA Hall of Fame. This year’s class is comprised of three athletes, one team, a coach and a special contributor, and were selected from a pool of nominations received during the open nominating period, and decided upon by the USABA Hall of Fame Selection Committee.
